FAQs

How does therapy work?

Reproductive and Perinatal Mental Health are often a reason someone seeks therapy services. For many this is their first time seeking mental health support. You may be wondering what to expect. We start our first couple sessions getting to know you and determining your goals for care. Your goals will determine the type of therapeutic interventions we use with you. There is always some amount of talking about feelings, but mostly we use therapeutic interventions that will help teach you tools and skills for managing your mental health. We also provide trauma therapies that are brain-body based. We work together to process your trauma in session. These trauma therapies can be intense, but are often effective and time limited.

How do we meet?

We can meet either in-person or through virtual appointments. We are located at the Historic Breslin (729 S Bernard St, Space D). We use the Zoom app for our therapy sessions. Please download the app prior to our first appointment.

How often do we meet? How many sessions will we have?

Generally we start meeting clients once per week. This can vary depending on client's therapeutic needs, scheduling, cost, etc. The number of sessions will depend on your goals and how you feel.

Can we work on topics other than Perinatal or Reproductive mental health?

Since we specialize in Perinatal and Reproductive Mental Health we prefer that to be the primary reason for meeting. It can be necessary for healing to work on other topics; however, if it becomes the primary focus we will recommend connecting you to a therapist who specializes in what you need to work on.
